About Us
Culligan Wheaton is Culligan USA's first franchise. Founded in Wheaton, IL in 1938, we have grown to become one of the premier dealerships in the Chicago suburbs. We originally rented 'Portable Exchange' tanks to our customers. These tanks were installed in our customers' homes and we then exchanged them for 'fresh' tanks, and recharged the spent tanks at our regeneration facility in Wheaton.
By the 1950s we began renting and selling automatic softeners and filters that were recharged and regenerated on-site in the customer's home. This technology eventually made the portable exchange method of treating water obsolete. By the early 1960s we had outgrown our building, and in 1962 moved into our present 14,000 square foot building from which we rent and sell softeners, filters, drinking water and bottled water equipment. We also deliver bottled water and salt.
During our history we have provided the Culligan System with may innovations in sales, office and service management. We have been honored with many awards from Culligan USA including the Circle of Excellence, Silver Circle, and Top Dealership Awards. Members of our staff have been elected to Culligan’s Dealer Advisory Council and their Service Advisory Council. We were a founding member of the Water Quality Association and the state of Illinois Water Quality Association. We are members of the Wheaton Chamber of Commerce, the Wheaton Downtown Association and other civic organizations.
Our goal today is the same as when the company was started and that is Customer Satisfaction and Retention through Excellence in Service.
